SF Restaurant week + Nutrition
Hello everyone, Nancy, your Nutritional Consultant here!
New year, new you!
January is a time where everyone is working to better themselves and their health. It can be a struggle to commit to diets like “whole 30”, though I am here to make it a little bit easier for you to stick to your new health goals! Eating for Health doesn’t mean you have to lock yourself away! There are plenty of restaurants in San Francisco that serve local, fresh, seasonal produce, that stays in line with Dermaplus Nutrition model! In Fact, next week is Restaurant Week in SF, and there are over 300 Bay Area chefs listed below that shop at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market to supply their kitchens with fresh, regional food—food that is well-raised, well-selected and, well, delicious!
Why does eating local foods benefit my health?
Plants get their nourishment from the sun and soil. Seasonally fresh produce is picked when it’s ripe and fully developed. Because the plant has had more sun exposure, it will have higher levels of antioxidants to protect against cell damage that causes aging.
Fresh produce means the flavor is at its peak, your body is getting the foods it needs for the season that it’s in and you’re supporting your local farmers!
Share in the fun while Eating for Health and support the chefs that make organic, local and seasonal foods a priority on their menu.
